• Why form pouches from rollstock instead of buying pre-made?
• When you purchase pre-made pouches you are paying for the supplier to form pouches on their own equipment, which tend to be much larger and more expensive to own and operate. This means pre-made pouch suppliers need to cover their higher expenses (and profit margins) with higher priced pouches.
• Why is it less expensive to form pouches on a CannaPouch system than other form-fill-seal machines?
• CannaPouch form-fill-seal machines are compact and efficient, requiring significantly less space to own and less energy to operate. Common horizontal form-fill-seal machines can easily be 20 feet long (or longer!), requiring much more air and electricity to run.
• Do CannaPouch machines require special skills to operate and maintain?
• CannaPouch systems are designed to be simple without sacrificing functionality. Factory provided training will ensure that you and your team are able to operate and maintain your CannaPouch system from day one. Our service team is available to assist you should you run into any problems along the way.
• Will my pouches meet regulations for child resistance?
• CannaPouch systems are designed to produce pouches meeting or exceeding the standards for child resistance under the guidelines set forth by ASTM D3475, the CPSC, and CFR 1700. Certifications are performed on a per-package basis and take into account the pouch size and material, opening and closure method, and potentially other factors depending on your specific application. Always consult the legal requirements in your state and/or locality when designing and certifying your cannabis packaging.
• What if packaging regulations change in the future?
• With federal legalization and regulation likely to occur at some point in the next decade, it is safe to assume that the federal government will eventually impose its own regulations on cannabis product packaging. CannaPouch systems are designed to meet standards for medical device and pharmaceutical product packaging, meaning even the strictest regulations should fall within your machine's abilities.
• Why use 4 sided pouches?
• 4 sided pouches, with a seal on all 4 sides, are the preferred pouch style for medical and pharmaceutical applications because they offer a superior moisture and vapor barrier when compared to a 3 sided (fin sealed) pouch made from the same material. Because the seal on all 4 sides is produced with the same number of layers each seal is improved and leaks can be eliminated. This means your product will stay fresher for longer and odors are minimized or eliminated.
